July Meeting
This month we will be holding our meeting at the repeater site instead of the high school. Our plan is, if the weather holds, to do some trimming and general clean up of the site. The owners of the towers are kind enough to donate their valuable tower space for our repeater antennas and this is a way for us to show our appreciation. We will be meeting at 6:00 pm instead of our normal 7:30 time in order to take advantage of the daylight hours. Please bring gloves, bug spray, and a weedwacker if you have one.
This is also a great opportunity for you to see the repeater and get a tour from Chuck Scott N8DNX. We appreciate all the time and effort that Chuck puts into maintaining our repeater so be sure to show that appreciation by coming out to help.
To get to the repeater site, take M119 to Pleasantview Rd. Turn right and take Pleasantview Rd. north. Not too far past the ski resorts you will see Stutsmanville Rd. Turn left. After you pass State Rd. start looking for the Stutsmanville Township Hall. Turn left there. The road to the repeater site will be on the left. It is a two track but isn't too terrible to get through. If you think you may have problems you can park by the township hall. Give a shout on the '68 repeater and someone can come pick you up.
Two Meter Contest
Congratulations to the winners of our Field Day Practice contest that was held at our June meeting. Bill KD8CNS, Rob KD8CYR, and Tom WA8AA. They have all received a beautifully framed certificate commemorating their achievement. Although he did not win an award, special recognition goes to Chuck N8NXP for having the biggest number of simulated radios on the air at one time, over 40.
